Read More About Hellenic Club

The Hellenic Club Sydney is a cultural and social organisation in Sydney, Australia, focused on preserving and promoting Greek heritage. Established in 1924 by Greek shopkeepers as a meeting place for the Greek community, it was incorporated in 1926 and initially served as a hub for Greek immigrants to connect, celebrate national events, and maintain their culture.

During our near hundred year history, the Club has supported scores of community organisations including Australian and Greek charities, arts organisations, schools, universities, hospitals and aged care facilities.

The Members' Club Room continues to operate from our Elizabeth Street premises and is open to members and guests.

The Anzacs of Greece:
A Tribute from the Hellenic Presidential Guard

Monday 24th April - Sunday 4th May 2025

The Hellenic Club in collaboration with the Joint Committee for the Commemoration of the Battle of Crete and the Greek campaign, and with the support of the NSW Government, hosted a remarkable celebration of Greek heritage, featuring the esteemed Hellenic Presidential Guard, known as the Evzones, in Sydney.

The visit commemorated 125 years of Australians and Hellenes standing together in defense of shared ideals and homelands. Additionally 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII, making the visit a cornerstone of the Australian Hellenic community's tributes to those who sacrificed so much for our present and future.

The public program began with a Doxology service at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of Our Lady at Redfern and featured a flag raising and wreath laying ceremony at the Hyde Park Anzac Memorial.
